Admissions & Records Updates

Facebook Chat for Students

Admissions and Records will be holding weekday morning Facebook live chats beginning Monday, March 30 at 9:00am, where students can ask questions and receive additional

guidance. Visit the SRJC Facebook page for more information.

Admissions & Records Forms for Students, Staff and Faculty:

  1. Drop/withdraw after deadline:  Students must petition using this online form. No documentation is necessary (students should write due to COVID-19 in statement if appropriate).  Students may request a refund/reversal of fees on the Drop petition form. We will continue to take petitions till the end of the semester. Complete the petition form.

Students receiving financial aid should consult with the financial aid office to understand implications to their student aid before dropping a course.  We highly recommend that students contact their Counselor before dropping classes.

  1. P/NP Reversal option:  Students can switch to P/NP in their student portal now until the end of the semester only.  Please encourage students to talk to a counselor before opting to switch to P/NP, since it will not necessarily be the best option for all students.

PLEASE NOTE – At this time, the Pass/No Pass reversal option is only available for courses that were already set to provide both P/NP and letter grades for this term. Academic Affairs will be working with our faculty leadership on the process to extend the P/NP option to more courses across the district. We will update you once we have more information.

  1. Incomplete forms: Incomplete forms are available if faculty wish to give students an Incomplete grade - faculty should fill out for the student, sign, enter default grade and missing work and submit to Debbie Riedmuller at driedmuller@santarosa.edu. Students normally have one year to complete work –  faculty can choose to write in a shorter deadline. Find the Incomplete Form HERE.

Available for spring 2020 only - faculty may give their full roster an Incomplete grade. This will be available when you submit your final grades, an “I” will be one of the grades.  In all cases, A&R will need to know the default grade at the time of grade submission and if the deadline to complete work is shorter than one year.

As the situation continues to evolve, you can visit our A&R online services website at https://admissions.santarosa.edu/online-services.

Faculty Resources

Faculty Portal access HERE

The Disability Resources Department recognizes that all faculty have worked incredibly hard to create their courses in the modified learning environment, and we are here to support you in any way that we can. In an effort to support faculty, we have gathered together some useful tools, meant only as an additional resource that may be helpful.

  1. Our Specialists are available for students via phone and zoom appointments, and we encourage you to refer students who might benefit from our services and support. We are also available to support Faculty in their work with students.

For general questions, disabilityinfo@santarosa.edu.
For more specific questions, contact info here

  1. Several documents related to the differing types of instruction that will be utilized during the coming time can be found on the “Faculty Resources for the Remote Learning Environment” banner of the Disability resources Department webpage.   We’ve included a document outlining Alternative Assessment Formats. Take a look and let us know your creative solutions for assessing students, and we will add them to the list.
  2. We also have included The Disability Resources Department's Universal Design for Learning Toolkit, which has a variety of ideas and resources for maximizing access to curriculum offered both in face to face and online environments. including:
  3. Information about Universal Design for Learning and its underlying principles
    1. Embedding choice in curriculum to maximize access and demonstration of content mastery
    2. Rubrics for grading student participation in online environments
    3. Apps for supporting online learning
    4. Online accessibility resources
    5. Teaching email etiquette to students

Another place you can find helpful information is on the Remote Resources webpage, under 'Faculty’. This page has several informational items that will support you in the remote learning environment, and ways to get assistance, if desired, in creating accessible document and captioning videos. And finally we have shared a tip for providing Transcripts of ZOOM meetings.

Laptop Loan Program for Students

Students interested in participating in the laptop loan program should complete this FORM. We are doing our best to acquire enough laptops for all students who need one, but supplies may be limited.

This program will support students who need laptops for remote learning to continue their education at SRJC. Student Life, in collaboration with IT and through funding from the Foundation, is in the process of acquiring, imaging and distributing as many laptops as possible, as quickly as possible. As you might guess, because of supply line issues, acquiring new laptops has been challenging. We hope to be able to conduct our phase one distribution by this Friday, April 3, but the bulk of the laptops will probably be delivered to students sometime next week; be assured that we will distribute as soon as we have the devices and the resources to do so. Students have been notified through faculty communication and the Student FAQs on how to request a laptop. Thus far, over 250 students have requested a device. Our goal is to make sure everyone who needs one, gets one. In order to determine who gets a laptop first, we are prioritizing based on unmet financial need. Specific distribution information will be sent to those who have requested a device. Please contact Genevieve Bertone (gbertone@santarosa.edu) with questions.

Laptops will be distributed on Burbank Circle. Students will be notified via email of their pick-up date/time. They will receive a laptop, power cord and mouse. If you still have students who need a laptop, please email their name and SID# to Genevieve Bertone at gbertone@santarosa.edu.
