Bentley Cavazzi was born in Switzerland and came to the United States as an ESL student. Today he is dedicated to directly making a difference in the lives of English Language Learners. He holds a B.A. from UC Santa Cruz in Political Science and earned an M.S. in Education with an emphasis in TESOL from California State University, Fullerton. He also completed an A.A. in Business Administration and A.S. in Computer & Digital Information Management and is grateful for the role community colleges played in his own education.

His past teaching experiences include credit ESL, non-credit AESL, and citizenship courses at the community college level, as well as graduate and undergraduate courses at the CSU level. He has taught for Intensive International English Programs and has also taught German at both the secondary and university levels. He has built dual immersion programs and CTE/iBEST programs in the communities he has served, in addition to working as both an academic writing and a corporate English tutor.

Bentley is an active member in the CATESOL community, serving in various roles, including co-treasurer, Teaching English in the Workplace Coordinator, and co-chair for the 2022 annual conference. He has presented at conferences, professional development events, the U.S. State Department, and regional consortiums and workshops. Bentley has always been passionate about languages and culture and enjoys integrating technology and community outreach into his courses; he is honored to join the faculty at SRJC, and is excited to be part of this community!
