COMMON FACULTY & STAFF QUESTIONS

Copy & Supply Requests

Basic instructor supplies and copies are provided in the Petaluma Workroom.

  • Please email your copy requests to petalumaworkroom@santarosa.edu with at least 24 hours advance notice (default settings are double-sided and stapled, and we are only able to print in black & white).
  • All instructors are assigned individual copy codes so that copies can be charged back to the appropriate department; instructions will be in your mailbox the first day of classes. Please do not share your copy code with others.
  • Only course material for use in Petaluma classes may be copied.

Employee Reimbursements

We strongly recommend you find out in advance of your purchase whether it is eligible for reimbursement or not. Common reimbursement requests from Petaluma faculty include, but are not limited to, mileage to and from the main campus for work-related events where Zoom is not an option, travel request receipts and expenses, and limited supply reimbursements.

Some reminders:

  • Not all faculty expenses are reimbursable; this is why we recommend you check with your Department Chair and/or with Accounting prior to making your purchase.
  • Advance approval is REQUIRED for all travel expenses.
  • Visit Accounting to find the forms you need.
  • For more information, please contact us so we can help you determine in advance if your expense is eligible for repayment.

Faculty Absences

  • Click here to learn the Petaluma Faculty Absence Reporting Procedure.
  • Faculty absences are governed by Article 29 of the All Faculty Association (AFA) contract, which outlines the procedures for reporting absences and the consequences of failing to do so. Faculty must report all absences, including those covered by a colleague, using a Notice of Absence (NOA) Form or Travel Request Form, depending on the nature of the absence. Failure to report an absence can result in pay deductions.

Homework Box

The Homework Box (located on the ground floor hallway of the Richard W. Call Building near room PC 631) is emptied Monday -Thursday at 12:00 PM. Materials retrieved from the Homework Box are placed in faculty mailboxes.

Key & Access Requests

Our facility utilizes a security system consisting of Proximity card readers in high security areas and mechanical keys in all other areas. Please contact us to start the necessary paperwork. To keep our facilities secure, we also collect keys at the end of teaching assignments. If you have forgotten your keys after hours and need access, contact District Police at 707-527-1000.

Mailboxes

All faculty who teach in Petaluma have mailboxes on-site in the Petaluma Workroom, and it is important that these be checked on a regular basis. If you would like to make arrangements to have the contents of your mailbox mailed to the Santa Rosa campus, however, please just let us know.

Voicemail

Please contact IT if you want to set up voicemail.
