Free Farmer's Market 

Due to winter break, there is no Free Farmers Market in January. The Food Pantry remains open, and the next Free Farmers Market will be  February 4th, 11:30am-1:30pm under the outdoor canopy (between buildings 400 & 500).  More information here.

Free Takeout Tuesday 

Tuesday, January 14th , noon -1pm. In the Petaluma Student Engagement & Success Center. Join us for the first Free Takeout Tuesday! Each 2nd Tuesday of the month. Free lunch and the opportunity to connect with a campus leadership who are eager to hear about your experiences and hopes for the Petaluma Campus offerings. Come hungry, and willing to share your thoughts!

Student Success Team Workshop: Get Set Up for Success & Syllabus Review Workshop  

It's almost time for the semester again so let the Petaluma Student Success Team help you set yourself up for success. Join us Wednesday Jan. 15th from 12:00-1:00pm for our 1st workshop. Topics include reviewing your syllabus, knowing how to navigate canvas and planning out your week for success. The workshop is going to take place in person at the Petaluma Campus Student Engagement & Success Center, Mike Smith Hall Building 500, Room 114.

Student Success Team Workshop: How to Use AI Effectively Workshop 

Curious about how AI can boost your productivity and academic success? Join us for a hands-on workshop to learn practical tips and tools for using AI responsibly and ethically in your studies and beyond. Join us Tuesday Jan. 28th from 12:00-1:00pm. In collaboration with EOPS, students in EOPS who attend will receive a contact! The workshop is going to take place in person at the Petaluma Campus Student Engagement & Success Center, Mike Smith Hall Building, 500 Room 114.

For your convenience and last-minute needs, many offices will open for in-person services on Saturday, January 11th, 2025. SRJC staff and student leaders will be available to provide hands-on support for new and returning students with admissions requirements, information about financial aid and scholarships, campus life, registering for classes, and much more!

Stop by the Herold Mahoney Library Gallery during Library hours to view bold and thought-provoking artwork by the internationally recognized contemporary artist Shepard Fairey. 

 

Fairey is known for creating visual works that advocate for various causes, including women's rights, presidential elections, and keeping Earth habitable for current and future generations.

SRJC Therapy Dogs are here for you all Semester at Mahoney Library  

Come say “Hi” and visit with the popular SRJC Therapy Dogs. Our friendly pups are at Mahoney Library every Tuesday from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Spending time with therapy dogs helps reduce your school, work, and life stresses!

Welcome to the beginning of the spring semester! This month's academic theme is “Preparedness. The Student Success Team is here for you to help you start the semester strong. Meet with your team of Success Coaches to make a plan for your success this semester.  

We are here to help you! As Success Coaches, we are students like you, and each team member can help connect you to resources and help you improve your student success skills.   

If you would like help with:   

  • Creating a weekly schedule  

  • Making a study plan for each class 

  • Improving your study skills and note-taking strategies 

  • Getting connected to campus resources  

We are available for appointments in person and online.

Admissions and Records  

Welcome to the Spring 2025 semester at SRJC Petaluma The Admissions & Records Team is here to help with all of your enrollment needs, so stop by the Welcome & Connect Center, Mike Smith Hall, PC 500 or call us at (707)778-2415. We are open M, T, TH 8 am – 5 pm, W, 8 am – 7 pm and F 8 am –12 noon.

Financial Aid 

Financial Aid appointments are available in the Welcome & Connect Center Mondays, 1-5pm and Thursdays, 8:30-12:30pm if you have advanced questions about loans, special considerations for unique circumstances, an appeal or a disqualification. 

Students can join a zoom time to obtain virtual assistance 

Join us on Thursday, February 20, 2025, for SRJC Petaluma Campus Financial Aid Fun Day in the Student Success & Engagement Center from 11 am – 2 pm! Student Financial Services staff will be assisting students to complete their financial aid applications and celebrating with lunch, music, photo booth, and a resource fair. More information to come.  

Counseling 

Counselors are available to assist students in making an informed decision about their education goal and course of study and to develop an education plan. Counseling Services are offered by appointment (in-person, phone or zoom) and/or via Express Drop-in (in-person, phone or zoom).  For more information and/or to schedule appointments stop by the Counseling office, Kathleen Doyle Hall, PC 216 or call (707) 778-3914.
