Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVACR) Fundamentals

Santa Rosa Junior College's Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Fundamentals program prepares students for exciting and in-demand jobs in the residential HVACR industry.

In this program, students learn how residential HVACR systems and their components operate; the fundamentals of airflow, refrigeration, ventilation, combustion, and thermodynamics; and the tools and equipment used for installation, maintenance, and repair work. Students also learn about jobsite safety, codes and regulations, career opportunities, and industry certification requirements for residential HVACR technicians.

SRJC's HVACR Fundamentals program offers online and hybrid (online and inperson) course options and uses cutting-edge digital simulation materials to provide high-quality training wherever students have internet access and a digital device, such as a phone or laptop. 

All digital training materials are available free of charge to HVAC 101 and HVAC 102 students joining the program in Fall 2026!

The HVACR Fundamentals Certificate and Associate of Science Degree prepare students for exciting, in-demand jobs in the residential Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) industry.
