Breakout sessions #1

1. Welcome Bear Cubs - Petaluma Student Success Team - Call Hall Room 639

This workshop will help new students get prepared and excited for their first semester. The first half of the workshop is dedicated to academic, health, and community resources available on campus. The second half is dedicated to time management techniques to help students stay on top of their classwork.  

2. What I Wish My English, EMLS, and Math Professor Told Me Before The First Midterm. Preparing For Success In Your English, EMLS, and Math Courses - Petaluma English, EMLS, and Math Faculty - Call Hall Room 641

This interactive session is hosted by SRJC Petaluma faculty where they will share their tips for success in your English, EMLS or Math course at SRJC. Come meet your future professors and ask any questions you have about taking classes at SRJC.  

3. Cash For College Financial Aid Workshop – SRJC Financial Aid Office & 10,000 Degrees - Call Hall, Room 644 

You can join this workshop to get assistance with completing your FAFSA or CADAA, as well as get all your financial aid questions answered.

4. Keeping Connected: Cultural Identity in Higher Education – Petaluma Intercultural Center - Call Hall, Room 698

 This interactive workshop will highlight the importance of maintaining cultural identity while navigating college, understanding how to balance cultural identity with academic and lived experiences, and establishing a supportive community. Students will also learn about resources and skills that will empower them as they start their academic journey at SRJC. 

5. Parent and Supporter Session with the Executive Dean – Executive Dean, Petaluma Campus Matthew Long - Call Hall, Room 692 

In this session, parents and supporters of SRJC students will learn about the unique features of the SRJC Petaluma campus and what it takes to be a successful student at SRJC, and what role a supportive network can play in the life of their college student. (Note: this session will be 10:15-12p)
